ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - FIRST ALERT 7 Forecast for Saturday, June 20th, 2026: Summer heat returns once again for the weekend, with widespread triple-digit temperatures expected by Father’s Day.

SATURDAY

To start Saturday, temperatures will be rather mild (60s & 70s), and skies will be mostly clear. Through the afternoon, expect very hot temperatures, light south winds (5-10 MPH), and mostly sunny skies. Daytime highs will warm into the mid-to-upper 90s and lower 100s. Midland and Odessa are expected to reach a high of 97 degrees. With high pressure taking control, showers and thunderstorms will be hard to come by. With that said, few storms are expected to develop by mid-afternoon, mainly west of the Pecos River. Locally heavy rainfall and frequent lightning will accompany these storms.

SUNDAY

Extreme Heat is expected to return by the end of the weekend thanks to breezy southwest winds. Widespread triple-digit highs are likely. The current forecast high for Midland and Odessa is 105 degrees.

NEXT WEEK

With high pressure remaining in control, most of next week will feature above-average warmth and mostly rain-free conditions. Highs will be in the upper 90s and low 100s through Friday and even the following weekend.
