Bass Pro Shops donates 40 rods and reels in Odessa to help more kids discover fishing

ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - Forty local children will have a new opportunity to experience fishing thanks to a donation from Bass Pro Shops and founder Johnny Morris.

As part of the company’s annual Gone Fishing initiative, Bass Pro Shops is donating 40 rods and reels in Odessa to the Caza Outdoors Foundation, helping introduce more young people to the outdoors through future fishing events and programs.

The Odessa donation is part of a larger effort across the United States and Canada, where Bass Pro Shops is providing more than 55,000 rods and reels to youth-focused nonprofit organizations this year.

Representatives from Bass Pro Shops will present the donation to the Caza Outdoors Foundation during a special event at the Odessa store on Thursday, June 11 at 1:00 p.m.
