COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Texas A&M men’s tennis defeated Vanderbilt 4-2 in the second round of the 2026 SEC Tournament on Thursday night at the Mitchell Tennis Center. Here is a game rundown:

Why did A&M win? The Aggies secured the doubles point with consecutive wins. Lathan Skrobarcek and Markus Molder won on court three 6-3, followed by another 6-3 win from Theo Papamalamis and Togan Tokac on court one.

Vanderbilt took the first two singles matches, but A&M responded with back-to-back singles wins from Tokac and Kholo Montsi.

The match was decided on court one, where Papamalamis faced Pablo Martinez Gomez. After trailing 1-4 in the second set, Papamalamis rallied to win set two and the match in a tiebreaker.

“I was really pleased, though, with how we responded when things got tight out there,” Aggies’ head coach, Steve Denton, said. “Even Theo was down and looked like he was going to lose the second set. He was able to come back out of there and, for him to be able to do that, those are all really good signs which was ultimately the difference for us.”

What’s next? A&M will face Oklahoma in the quarterfinals on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
