Texas A&M men’s hoops adds Cade Phillips via transfer
(KBTX) - The Texas A&M men’s basketball team added its third player out of the transfer portal in former Tennessee forward Cade Phillips, the rising senior announced on social media Thursday.
Last season for the Vols, the 6-foot-9, 212-pound forward averaged 3.8 points and 4 rebounds in 16.9 minutes played per game. It was a slight tick down from his sophomore season, when he averaged 4.6 points per game.
In one game played against the Aggies, Phillips played 17 minutes, scoring two points and pulling down two rebounds.
The Aggies are stronger in the forward position heading into the 2026-27 season with the return of Zach Clemence and Jamie Vinson. However, they will need to replace the production of Rashaun Agee, who used the remainder of his eligibility this season. Agee averaged a team-high 14.6 points per game and 8.7 rebounds per game last year.
Phillips joins former Kansas State guard PJ Haggerty and Radford guard Lukas Walls as additions via transfer during this portal window, which remains open through April 21.
